  • 🇫🇷 LGV Timetable Winter / Spring 2026

    “Good things come to those who wait.” This time the things coming must be particularly good, because it’s already the end of January. A change in the SNCF’s GTFS timetable set meant that the recording of the many, many TGV trains had to be postponed by a few weeks. Although the changes were relatively moderate this time, it still took two and a half weeks to process the list of TGV, OUIGO or Intercités de nuits services and to fill it into their corresponding timetable columns. But finally, it’s done: the winter & spring edition 2026 of the LGV timetable is here!

    And so, like always, have a ‘Bonne lecture et bonne route !’

  • 🇫🇷 LGV Timetable Summer / Autumn 2025

    This time the LGV timetable took about two weeks and is about twice as ‘thick’ as before. In some cases the differences between the summer timetable (valid until 31 August) and the autumn timetable (valid from 1 September) were that massive that it was necessary to separate all the tables accordingly.

    There were many minor changes, with the main new additions introducing Trenitalia’s Frecciarossa between Paris and Marseille and the resumption of TGV and Frecciarossa services to Modane and Milano.

  • What is a “Gleisbär”?

    The Gleisbär (“track bear” in English) is a stubborn creature. He roams the world, is curious and yet seeks familiarity on paths suggested to it. He follows tracks and railway lines. Landscapes, villages and towns pass him by, whilst soaking them up in the hope of being able to grasp the big picture one day.

    Looking forward is important to him in order to be aware of what might await him. However, having a look to what’s behind him isn’t his cup of tea. He also rejects any obstacles that take away his view on the world.

    To the Gleisbär participation is important. He knows that he doesn’t know everything. But he is happy to pass on what he knows that others don’t necessarily know about. And if it’s just because he is happy himself when others pass their knowledge on to him.

    Legend has it that the Gleisbär has some connections to a person of flesh and blood who travels the internet as ‘Wrzlbrnft’. Rumour has it that this same person is called ‘Björn’ in real life, which in turn is the Swedish word for ‘bear’. And, as you might know, Sweden has a lot of railway tracks.

    So the circle is complete.

  • Welcome! Bienvenue ! GLEISBÄR speaks now English and French (sort of)

    Although the Gleisbär will not be known as ‘track bear’ or ‘ours de rail’ in future, he still wants to welcome visitors from non-German-speaking countries.

    Therefore all pages and, where possible, all articles here are now also available in English and French. However, as the Gleisbär cannot yet afford a 50-strong translation team, he asks for your understanding if not all translations are 100% accurate.
